📢 Important Update for Employers & Skilled Visa Applicants: New Income Thresholds Effective 1 July 2025
As part of the Australian Government’s commitment to a fair and effective migration system, skilled visa income thresholds will be indexed by 4.6% from 1 July 2025, in line with changes to the Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE).
🔍 Here’s what’s changing:
✅ Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT):
Increasing from AUD $73,150 → AUD $76,515
(Affects subclass 482 – Core Skills stream and 186 – Employer Nomination Scheme)
✅ Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT):
Increasing from AUD $135,000 → AUD $141,210
(Affects subclass 482 – Specialist Skills stream)
✅ Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT):
Increasing from AUD $73,150 → AUD $76,515
(Affects subclass 494 – Regional Sponsored and 187 – RSMS visas)
📌 Note: These new thresholds apply to nominations lodged on or after 1 July 2025. Existing visa holders and applications submitted before this date are not affected.
💡 These updates aim to: – Align skilled migrant salaries with Australian workforce standards
– Ensure skilled migration is not used to undercut local wages
